Why another timeline of English?  Most timelines simply pair dates with events, which leaves the real story of English largely untold.  This discussion catalogues the important events in the development of the English language and then presents those events within the historical contexts that that shaped them.  You will also be introduced to many obscure, thought-provoking and fascinating  facts about our language within the context of its evolution and development.
